How do they work?
1. You will start by selecting your outer that will hold the invitation. Envelopments® offer many different ready-made outers, so you can choose from from Pocket Folds ™, Portable Pockets™, Gate Folds, Z Cards, Envelopments™ and Folded Cards. For example, if you are looking for an invitation that will neatly hold inserts such as RSVP for example, then a Pocket Fold™ is for you.
2. The next step is to choose the size of outer, there are several different sizes, and again, using the pocket fold™ as an example you can choose from 5”x5”, 5”x7” and several more sizes, these can be selected from the standard sizes table which can be found here.
3. Once you are sure of the size, shape and orientation of outer that is best for you, you need to start thinking about colour selections.
4. By this point you should have some idea of what you want to include in your invitation. For example, you will have the main body which will include the invitation itself, but you may also want to include an RSVP card with matching envelope, an accommodation card, a directions card, maybe a map, or just a couple of cards incorporating all the above. That is the beauty of Envelopments® they can be tailored to your needs. You should now be ready to choose your colour selections.
5. Decide how many colours you want to use by thinking about their layout in the invitation. How many layers do you want on the main body, and what colours will the layers be? There are currently over 100 different cardstock colours available, and in order to make this selection easier we stock the Mini Swatch Decks and also have sample packs. You may also view cardstock and paper colours here however computer monitors do differ and the colour on the screen may not be representative of the true colour dependent on the monitor, so we urge you to choose your colours by using the sample packs or swatch decks, or by calling into our invitation design studio.
6. How many inserts do you want, and what colours will these be? What size card do you need and will they have to be custom cut?
7. If you are layering up your invite, then you will need to think about the sizes of layers to get that stepped effect. Envelopments™ offer custom cutting, so if you let us know the size of the border that you want on each layer, we can calculate the sizes for you. There is a small charge for this service, but you are assured of straight cut edges which is all important to the overall look of the invite.
8. Do you want a front seal? If so, what colours, how many layers and what size?
